From the very beginning, we create an infrastructure that is resistant to downtimes. We believe that if something is well designed, well implemented with the right technology and regular maintenance, we can really get close to zero downtime.
Every manager or CEO's dream is to have IT in their company that they don't know about. It provides silent support to the whole company, increases the efficiency of processes, but does not draw attention to itself several times a week with outages. The problem is that it only works like this in an ideal world. That's why eGroup Solutions came up with the Zero Downtime concept, which seeks answers to bring the number of downtime to a number close to zero.
There is always business at the end of IT infrastructure
It's pre-Christmas time and there are dozens of trucks parked in a food manufacturer's forwarding warehouse. The dispatch system is down and the logistics team has no idea which goods to have, in what numbers and where to send them. Thanks to the intervention of experts, the whole situation lasted only about four hours. However, the Slovak confectionery manufacturer has quantified the damage at EUR 16 thousand. The most common cause behind the failure was human error.
According to Marian Benko, chairman of the board of eGroup Solutions, the worst impact is the loss of reputation, which is difficult to quantify. However, he is convinced that such scenarios can be eliminated to almost zero.
How to tame IT
The first question every CEO should ask himself is whether he knows how much he depends on IT services and whether his IT department really has things under control: a mapped IT infrastructure, its components, their connections and interrelationships.
